Oblique Strategies
What are you really thinking about just now? – Using my instincts, don’t overthink plot. I've been thinking of upstate New York, and our story was set in the woods, so I had that in mind when developing the setting. There’s also a well-known culinary school in the Hudson Valley that I’ve been to, Anthony Bourdain went there.
Into the impossible – Make things happen that are surreal or don’t fully make sense. Get imaginative and artificial with aspects of the story.
Distorting time – Expand on certain moments and brush over others. Include flashbacks and spend time in the past with memories.
Is it finished? – Add an additional, maybe unrelated moment at the end, even if you feel done.
(SPOILER) Make a sudden, destructive unpredictable action; incorporate – The fountain emits a steam that kills people.

Used to change the name of the school, “Blade Culinary Academy" to “de ulinary ademy” when it's covered in snow.
Used to repeat what the principal says to Ursula about "cooperation and teamwork."
N+7
When I typed in a sentence that had "Meat Team" in it, I got back "Tear Jerker." This made me decide to have a character cry at some point in the story.
When I typed in "Blade," the name of the culinary academy, I got back "Bleak." This led me to make the school setting bleak, misty, and creepy.

I typed in "Meat Team" and got "Tame Meat." I decided to change this to "Taming Meat," because I thought that Ursula and Jeff – characters that are meat advocates – need to settle down in their pursuits of "discovering the truth." They are both humbled.
